“SELF PORTRAIT”

Not long ago, someone asked if a figure in one of my paintings was a self-portrait.  That surprised me. Not at all, I said. That´s an old guy – a Trump supporter.  A couple of weeks ago, one of the drawers in my weekly figure drawing session showed a drawing of me she had made during the evening.  Damn!  If the face didn´t look like the other “self-portrait”.

What could this mean?  Every morning I see my face in the mirror – shaving, brushing my teeth. I see the same face I´ve always had.  Maybe a few more lines, but basically the same good-looking devil in the photos from thirty or forty years ago.

Could I be kidding myself? Hmm.
