“I´VE ALWAYS LOVED TO DRAW”

I´ve always loved to draw.  I was the kid in the class who won the poster contests. (Remember those?) When I was in the business world, at committee meetings I drew the other people´s faces on my scratch pad. Now, after years of working with oils, acrylics and watercolors, I find myself drawn to my roots: back to drawing.  At this point though, the drawings – still mostly of people and faces – are larger and freer, and I plan to add more color, but in a looser manner than before.  Many of these pieces are based on the hundreds of napkin drawings made in restaurants and bars over the many years, or on quick drawings from television. I´ve always, by the way, been an admirer of the American painter R. B. Kitaj, who used movie sets and settings to great advantage in many of his early paintings.  See what you think.

AND- please come to Galeria Izamal for our all-day 28th birthday celebration Saturday, November 28, from 11 am to 8pm.  I´m discounting all my framed pieces by 30%.
